I always thought I already knew AutoCAD, but after finishing CAD101 I realized I actually didn’t know much at all. The instructor showed me so many tools that I’ve been using, but I was using them wrong this whole time. Even just after the intro of this course, I knew it’s going to be worth it!

I enjoyed the learning experience in this course and learned a lot.

Everything was well paced and through. Coming from a mechanical/plumbing background, Revit always felt intimidating. BIM 101 broke everything down into a clear, manageable workflow. By the end, I was building models and actually understanding how to apply Revit in real project environments. This course genuinely boosted my confidence with BIM.

This course was fantastic for learning the basics of REVIT. Working along side the videos is a great way to learn and understand the workflows of a professional project. I feel more equipped to handle the everyday tasks that I face in my profession. These courses have enhanced the value that I give to my employer and it's already starting to pay off.

Very informative! I am very pleased with my experience overall. I definitely walked away with a better understanding of AutoCAD software and best practices. Even though I've done other AutoCAD certifications, this one provided excellent workflows and taught me so many tips and tricks to be a more efficient drafter. Definitely recommend if you're looking to gain AutoCAD experience or even to improve your skills!

My favorite part was how much explanation went into each video for AutoCAD, as well as the ability to contact and work with a teacher when there were things not translating from video to in person work. The training played a large role in my job as a plan designer and helped me better hone my basic skills when working within AutoCAD/ Civil3d.

This class is a 5 out of 5. I enjoyed the thorough breakdowns for each topic paired with videos that even further helped me understand the topic. The videos were thorough, and they had fantastic examples to learn from. As a new junior estimator with no prior experience reading blueprints, this class enabled me to fly through blueprints picking up what I knew I needed rather than fumbling through hoping I find what I need.

This was a really good course for me. I’m an office manager for a small commercial construction company, and I see drawings for different jobs, but I don’t have much to do with them. I also never really thought about what I was looking at. It’s really very interesting. The course is very clear, to the point, and broken into enough small bites that you cannot become overwhelmed.

I really enjoyed the class. The help resources are there if you need additional help but the videos are very informative on their own. I would 100% recommend this course to anyone who has never used AutoCAD before. The structure of the course allows you to go at your own pace, videos are in sections which allows you to not feel overwhelmed. The course itself helps you feel like you are reaching milestones after finishing each lesson which motivates you to continue. I will definitely continue my learning through VDCI!

When life threw me a curveball at 58 yrs old, I unexpectedly lost my job in retail management for a very minor mistake. Taking stock of my situation: I have a mortgage and all of the associated cost and I am the sole caretaker for my 90-yr old Parents, one with Alzheimer's and the other with Vascular Dementia. Plus, I have limited savings... But enough to do something better. Fifteen years ago I had my favorite job ever as a Certified 2D and 3D Architectural CAD Designer. I was laid off from WET Design (the choreographed fountain people - I worked on projects like The Burj Dubai, the Fountains at Bellagio, etc.) along with two-hundred other people when the Architectural field tanked in '09. I decided to pursue a job that fed my passion for design and that would bring me back in alignment with my Artists' Heart. I began looking for a way to catch up with the software and get the dust off of my old skills. Recertification was even better! I can't express how grateful I am to VDCI for offering a course such as this - I am now equipped to return to my passion field and love what I do instead of dread it. The cost was attainable, the subject was exactly what I was looking for, the online and self-paced natures of the class made it possible for me to complete and the brevity of the class made it doable with the time-sensitivity of my situation. The class was well designed, the videos clear and concise and my Instructor, John O'Malley, was kind, understanding, knowledgeable and patient. Thank you!

It was very interesting and easy to follow, great purchase. Taking the BIM Intro to Revit course was a great experience. It gave me a solid understanding of Revit’s tools and how Building Information Modeling works in real-world projects. The lessons were well-structured, easy to follow, and built up my confidence with each step. By the end, I could create and modify models, manage views, and understand the workflow between design and documentation. It’s a course I’d definitely recommend to anyone starting out with Revit or wanting a strong foundation in BIM.

I have 30 years in the construction industry, 23 in construction management. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount that I was able to learn from this course. I am continuing my education, getting certifications to bolster my field experience. I will definitely be enrolling in more courses through the VDC Institute.

I think this was a great introductory course. I had taken a similar course in the past, three hours a week for six weeks, and didn’t feel like I learned much. I really like that this one allows you to follow each video at your own pace, and I appreciate the skill tests and hands-on quizzes. I’d highly recommend it. I feel much more confident in my Revit skills now.

I think the Courses are great, its been a huge confidence booster. I love the fact that it's self-paced. I thought that learning Revit online would be difficult, but having the ability to review the videos and transcripts allowed me to follow the class with ease. I work for a material handling company where we are often asked to maximize warehouse space for efficiency. AutoCAD helps greatly to achieve this goal and the VDCI courses do a wonderful job in breaking down the AutoCAD functionality so that it works towards our intended purposes. The offered courses at VDCI are a great investment for anyone looking to utilize AutoCAD to its full potential. The course was paced really well and wasn't overwhelming. The instructor did a good job not skipping steps just because they had to be repeated. In my opinion, a big part of the learning curve with AutoCAD is repetition so that the workflow becomes ingrained. The course does well with this methodology.

Been learning Revit from YouTube and articles online. This course made learning the basics much simpler. Quizzes and Hands-on exercises made memorization of the material easy, and the videos provided are pretty straight-forward.

The teaching methodology is great. All the necessary course content was covered with great detail and the quizzes and projects made the learning compulsory. The overall experience was amazing. The way the course was taught built my confidence and prepared me for my career change. After going through the entire course, my Civil 3D knowledge has increased a lot.
