The Civil 3D online training class Bundle is geared towards students with no AutoCAD experience. Civil 3D uses the backbone of AutoCAD to leverage the specific tools in Civil 3D. Students will learn the fundamentals of Civil 3D and prepare a set of construction documents from Civil 3D files. When you complete the online training bundle, you will develop intermediate-level Civil 3D skills.
The classes are real-world, project-based curriculum. Your instructors are practicing professionals who use AutoCAD and Civil 3D on a daily basis. Strong student engagement.
The classes listed below are included in this training bundle. Each course will be scheduled one at a time in the sequence listed. Each course will be scheduled immediately after one another, unless requested otherwise.
Introduction to AutoCAD (30 Clock Hours) – Familiarizes students with basic AutoCAD commands while developing a floor plan for a single family residential home.
Create drafting symbols, kitchen and bath fixtures, a floor plan and integrate all information into one deliverable sheet file. Distinguish the differences required to generate drawings for use as annotation and real-world model components. Create and insert blocks and externally reference files, and determine the appropriate times to apply those skill sets. Master file management, drafting on layers, integrating drawing component files and plotting while creating on the class residential project.
Intermediate AutoCAD (30 Clock Hours) – Developing and assembling a set of 2D design construction documents.
Create an abbreviated set of construction documents including floor plan, foundation plan, electrical plan and building elevations for a small residential project. Create and insert blocks, externally reference files and determine the appropriate times to apply those skill sets to optimize project efficiency. Demonstrate layer and file management, external file referencing, use of model/layout environments and user coordinate systems. Apply intermediate-level skills including layer management, user coordinate system development, creating sheet layout environments and plotting.
Introduction to Civil 3D (30 Clock Hours) - Applying Civil 3D for basic 3D design projects.
Create a topographic survey document by importing relevant field-generated data. Develop site parcels, using survey data; properly displaying parcel data; including surface generation and surface manipulation. Create site profile views, terrain profiles, and design profiles. Master surface and point manipulation including fine-tuning manipulation to accurately reflect existing and future site conditions.
Intermediate Civil 3D (30 Clock Hours) - Emphasizes intermediate civil engineering tools within Civil 3D.
Design and create a corridor and derive information and data from the corridor. Design and create an intersection. Create and analyze sections and section views. Design and create a grading model and a grading model feature line.
Civil 3D Construction Documents (30 Clock Hours) - Using major Civil3D design elements
Design and create pressure networks in plan and profile. Discover and explore data referencing of Civil3D design elements. Utilize data referencing to create new drawings. Produce professional plans utilizing sheet sets.
Civil 3D Cert Exam Prep Class - Recommended - (10 Clock Hours) – Seminar review "Test Prep" course for the Civil 3D Certification Exam.
Demonstrate proficiency manipulating drawing information. Validate your skills and knowledge of Civil 3D. Advance your competitive edge and reputation, and achieve an accepted credential which can advance your career. Compare the functionality of different commands by using alternate interface methods.
