Fun Things About the VDCI Campus

Passive Solar Green Building

The VDCI campus is located in a state-of-the-art, passive solar, energy efficient, naturally-ventilated building. During the hot times of the year, we encourage our students to dress comfortably. During the cold times of the year, we encourage students to dress in layers.

Student Lounges

The design of the VDCI campus celebrates student engagement. There are two outdoor seating areas in the front yard, and two seating areas and a picnic table in the back yard. There are also two areas on the first floor of the building where students regularly congregate during breaks.

At VDCI, our onsite courses are offered using five Citrix-based servers. We teach on the latest version of Autodesk software programs. When you are in an onsite course, you will be provided a user name and password to access the Citrix servers. This is the same user name and password that you use when accessing the online Learning Management System.

Honor Bar

On the first floor, outside of the main computer lab, VDCI has an Honor Snack Bar which includes a variety of snacks for our students who do not wish to leave the campus during a class break. The available snacks include chips, candy, chocolate, crackers and cookies.

ADA Accessibility

The VDCI campus is fully ADA-compliant. VDCI endeavors to provide reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access to people with disabilities. ADA parking is provided behind the secured parking gate. If you need access to our ADA parking spot, please call the Administrative Staff at 619-758-9300 Extension 402.

VDCI provides free WiFi access to our onsite students. Please contact our administrative staff to receive the password so you can access our WiFi.

VDCI Quarterly Barbeques

At the end of each quarter, VDCI hosts a BBQ party for all of its local/on-site students. This is a great opportunity for students to solidify connections with other classmates and their instructors.
