    Virtual Design and Construction Institute is a private institution and is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).

    ACCET was founded in 1974 for the purpose of improving continuing education and training and has been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1978 as a “reliable authority” as to the quality of education and training provided by the institutions they accredit.

    The Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET) is a voluntary group of educational organizations affiliated for the purpose of improving continuing education and training. Through its support of an independent Accrediting Commission, the ACCET membership promulgates and sustains the Standards for Accreditation along with policies and procedures that measure and ensure educational standards of quality. ACCET is recognized for this purpose by the U.S. Secretary of Education and, accordingly, is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

    The essential purpose of the accreditation process is to provide a professional judgment as to the quality of the educational institution and program(s) offered, and to encourage continual improvement thereof. Accreditation is the process by which the ACCET Accrediting Commission grants public recognition to an educational institution which has voluntarily submitted to an evaluative comparison with established qualifications and standards, both upon initial application and periodically thereafter. ACCET’s function is focused upon educational quality, the continuous assessment and improvement of educational practices, and assistance to member institutions in the improvement of these practices within their programs.

    The four major components of this on-going process are: (1) the development and implementation of institutional and program goals and objectives that focus upon a continuing education mission, (2) a comprehensive, analytic self-evaluation review and report by the institution, (3) an on-site professional peer review to evaluate the adequacy and accuracy of the self-evaluation, and (4) an independent review and decision by the Accrediting Commission as an assessment of the institution’s commitment to and compliance with ACCET standards, policies and procedures.

    U.S. Department of Education Recognized Agency

    ACCET has been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1978. As such, the agency is listed as “a reliable authority as to the quality of education or training provided by institutions of higher education and the programs they accredit.” We have received back-to-back 5-year grants of recognition, the longest period provided to an accrediting agency.

    Notice to Students – ACCET Complaint Procedure

    VDCI | cadteacher is recognized by ACCET as meeting and maintaining certain standards of quality. It is the mutual goal of ACCET and the institution to ensure that educational training programs of quality are provided. When problems arise, students should make every attempt to find a fair and reasonable solution through the institution’s internal complaint procedure, which is required of ACCET accredited institutions and frequently requires the submission of a written complaint. Refer to the institution’s written complaint procedure which is published in the institution’s catalog or otherwise available from the institution, upon request. Note that ACCET will process complaints which involve ACCET standards and policies and, therefore, are within the scope of the accrediting agency.

    In the event that a student has exercised the institution's formal student complaint procedure, and the problem(s) have not been resolved, the student has the right and is encouraged to take the following steps:

    • Complaints should be submitted in writing and mailed, or emailed to the ACCET office. Complaints received by phone will be documented, but the complainant will be requested to submit the complaint in writing.
    • The letter of complaint must contain the following:
      1. Name and location of the ACCET institution;
      2. A detailed description of the alleged problem(s);
      3. The approximate date(s) that the problem(s) occurred;
      4. The names and titles/positions of all individual(s) involved in the problem(s), including faculty, staff, and/or other students;
      5. What was previously done to resolve the complaint, along with evidence demonstrating that the institution's complaint procedure was followed prior to contacting ACCET;
      6. The name, email address, telephone number, and mailing address of the complainant. If the complainant specifically requests that anonymity be maintained, ACCET will not reveal his or her name to the institution involved; and
      7. The status of the complainant with the institution (e.g. current student, former student, etc.).
    • In addition to the letter of complaint, copies of any relevant supporting documentation should be forwarded to ACCET (e.g. student’s enrollment agreement, syllabus or course outline, correspondence between the student and the institution).

  • US Department of Education Logo

    U.S. Department of Education

    The Department of Education provides oversight over the postsecondary accreditation system through its review of all federally-recognized accrediting agencies. The Department holds accrediting agencies accountable by ensuring that they enforce their accreditation standards effectively.

    The US DOE Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs ID Code for the Virtual Design & Construction Institute is 238209.

    The goal of accreditation is to ensure that education provided by institutions and/or programs of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality. Accrediting agencies, which are private educational associations of regional or national scope, develop evaluation criteria and conduct peer evaluations to assess whether or not those criteria are met. Institutions and/or programs that request an agency's evaluation and that meet an agency's criteria are then "accredited" by that agency.

    Autodesk Revit Architecture

    Revit Architecture software works the way architects and designers think. Purpose-built for BIM, Revit Architecture helps you capture and analyze early design concepts, while more accurately maintaining your vision through design, documentation, and construction. All changes are automatically updated throughout the project, so design and documentation remain coordinated and reliable.

    Autodesk Revit Structure

    Autodesk Revit Structure BIM software for structural engineering provides tools specifically built for structural design and analysis. With the advantage of BIM, Revit Structure helps to improve multi-discipline coordination of structural design documentation, minimize errors and enhance collaboration between structural engineers and extended project team members, such as architects, MEP engineers, and owners.

    Autodesk Revit MEP

    Autodesk Revit MEP BIM software is for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers. It supports more accurate and efficient building systems design projects from concept through construction.

    Design building systems more accurately using coordinated, consistent information inherent in the intelligent Revit MEP model.

    Analyze for efficiency with integrated analysis earlier in the process.

    Keep documentation coordinated and consistent with parametric change management technology.

    Deliver 3D models and documentation to support the building lifecycle.

    Autodesk Navisworks

    Autodesk Navisworks software provides dynamic 4D schedules and visualization that enable design professionals to share and combine output for clear, descriptive content that helps demonstrate design intent and validate decisions. Entire projects can be replicated with dynamic, photorealistic views and 4D construction schedules to demonstrate options and predict consequences.

    AutoCAD Civil 3D

    AutoCAD Civil 3D software is the building information modeling (BIM) solution for civil engineering. Civil 3D helps project teams explore transportation, land development, and environmental projects digitally before they are built. The creation of more coordinated and consistent information helps enable delivery of higher- quality documentation, visualizations, and 3D models for construction.

    Autodesk 3ds Max

    Autodesk 3ds Max software extends the BIM workflow by enabling architects, designers, and visualization specialists to explore, validate, and communicate their creative ideas – from digital prototypes to cinema-quality visualizations. It delivers powerful lighting analysis technology, advanced rendering capabilities, and digital continuity with the AutoCAD and Revit software families of products.
