How you learn:
Our course is designed to be taken either onsite or online.

This course is designed for people involved in the construction industry looking for an introductory overview of Blueprint Reading.

In the onsite course, you attend the onsite class and you participate in a round-table forum, reviewing sets of construction documents (blueprints). The course is conducted in a seminar format, where we review the construction documents from the front page through the last page -- learning the interrelationships between the drawing sheets.

In the online course, there are set beginning and ending dates for the course. Other than that, you complete your coursework at your convenience, within a set timeframe. You will use the Student Information System to watch your course videos, download and/or review the PDFs of the drawings discussed in the videos, complete your quizzes, participate in the discussion forums and to submit your completed assignments to your instructor for their evaluation.

For our online course:

The Friday before the course opens, you will receive an email which will provide you with your user name and password. You will use this information for all of your courses.

On the "Start Page" of the Student Information System, please read the instructions on how to use our online learning environment, which is consistent through all of our courses.

When your class opens, you will be provided access to the class lessons, including the PDF images. If you would like, please print your copies of the PDFs. It is recommended that they be printed on 11x17 format. Then you will be able to follow the videos by having the PDFs right alongside you.

Our online courses must be completed within two weeks from when you begin.

Each lesson includes videos to guide you through the lessons of reviewing a set of construction documents (blueprints). You will have reading assignments. There will be online quizzes and tests and you will participate in discussion forums with your fellow students and your instructor.

Your instructor will hold regular "office hours," where they will answer your questions 1:1.

You will be participating in discussion forums, and there will be some hands-on quizzes based on the videos and the sets of PDFs which are provided to you.

Once you have successfully achieved all of the course objectives, you will receive a course completion certificate and will be invited to attend the next course in the curriculum sequence.

We look forward to teaching you how to successfully use today's online technologies to navigate through electronic sets of Construction Documents.
