I really enjoyed the online, hands on, in depth lessons that taught me how to use CAD. Thanks to VDCI, I’m working full-time designing fire protection systems! It’s a dream come true. Thanks to you my future looks brighter than ever!

I graduated from VDCI in 2011. Now, I'm a licensed architect working in California without having an industry-related degree. I initially worked in the construction industry as a laborer in the field. I had some experience working with plans but knew nothing about drafting or blueprint creation. I decided to enroll in VDCI’s CAD/BIM Certificate Program to learn about AutoCAD and construction documents. To this day, I utilize the skills I learned at VDCI and train my staff through them.

My favorite aspect of the training was how the material was presented. Key points were reiterated frequently, and how complex items were presented in a way that wasn't overwhelming, which made the coursework incredibly enjoyable. A must for working adults that are interested in continuing education.

Over the last 25 years, I've worked in the fields of interior, lighting, web and graphic design. At some point I took a sabbatical to raise three kids. With the design industry constantly changing, I needed to find a way to get up to speed. VDCI was instrumental in getting me back into the workforce. I decided to go back to my interior design roots and looked into AutoCAD and BIM. Back in college, we drafted on vellum and fed them through blueprint machines. Within a matter of months, I learned how to produce the same types of construction documents with AutoCAD and Revit in a fraction of the time. From day one, the staff at VDCI guided me every step of the way. They offered both onsite night classes that worked with my schedule and the convenience of online classes. The online instructors corresponded promptly whenever I had any questions. Victoria Stover was my point of contact, and I can truly say I couldn't have made it work without her. She was accessible on a daily basis and worked around my schedule regarding planning courses and certification exams. She is gold. I am now working for an architect firm doing design development, construction documents and rendering. Revit is a robust program, and I’m learning new functionality on a daily basis. I took both certification courses in AutoCAD and Revit. If anyone is interested in working in the design industry, VDCI will give you the foundation you need to relaunch your career.

I ended up going with VDCI because they allowed a faster program, you can be done in under a year and it was vastly cheaper, but one of the one of the main reasons I went with VDCI was because of the hands-on experience and just the real practical real-life situations that they offered in the program. After I got hired my boss actually told me that I had more experience just from coming out of school than most of the people they hired from a two-year institution, so that just goes to show you because real engineers teach the program a VDCI you just get more like real-life problems and real life situations. And they do a good job of taking you through that.

Amazing program! The courses were manageable in regard to time and the videos were well documented and easy to follow along. The professors were responsive and provided useful feedback. VDCI coordinators also helped me find a great job after graduation and followed up with me to ensure I was still being cared for. I believe that fulfilling these trainings and gaining these skills has helped me to change my life for the better. Thank you for giving me a chance and helping me succeed!

I felt the lessons and videos were well-organized and arranged in an order that was intuitive. The instructor is clearly quite knowledgeable and was easy to understand and follow. When it comes to covering a lot of material in a short period of time, and in a way that can be easily-retain, this is one of the best courses I've taken yet. I have already highly recommended VDCI to other designers looking to advance their skills and will continue to do so. I'm looking forward to taking additional courses here in the future.

I've really enjoyed every instructor I've had. Full disclaimer, before quarantine I was kind of on track to becoming a machinist, but college and it's instructors just weren't always great for me. VDCI's instructors and experts have been wonderful at every step I got to. I cannot stress enough just how much that means for a guy with a touch of learning disabilities.

I appreciated the self paced nature which helped me to take advantage of a lot of down time I had and VDCI seamlessly supported me at the pace I wanted to go. The knowledge gained from the course was excellent and thorough and provided me with a great base of understanding the software Revit. I look forward to using everything I learned in order to get Autodesk certified as my next goal.

Great courses, I can finally put the course material to use in my current job. The final part- PFC 501- in my certification program was by far my favorite! I really enjoyed modeling my current home. I received a lot of great feedback and feel like I am prepared for the next chapter of my career! My instructor was VERY prompt in answering any questions that I had. He also gave me a lot of great feedback and encouragement!
